About the Role
This position supports the end-to-end mortgage loan process by managing documentation, coordinating with internal and external parties, and ensuring adherence to timelines and compliance requirements in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage mortgage loan files from application through closing
- Verify accuracy and completeness of borrower documentation
- Serve as a central point of contact between borrowers, underwriters, and closing agents
- Track loan milestones and ensure timely progression through each stage
- Communicate regularly with applicants to collect required paperwork
- Review loan packages for regulatory and internal compliance
- Coordinate with title and escrow companies to align closing schedules
- Update loan origination systems with current file statuses
- Respond to auditor and investor condition requests
- Escalate underwriting issues to management when necessary
- Maintain organized digital records for all loan files
- Ensure proper disclosure delivery and acknowledgment
- Monitor loan pipelines for bottlenecks or delays
- Support quality control reviews during post-closing audits
- Adhere to federal, state, and internal lending guidelines
- Assist in resolving borrower disputes or documentation discrepancies
- Prepare closing documents in coordination with legal and compliance teams
- Follow up on outstanding conditions from underwriting decisions
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for operational efficiency
- Attend team meetings to report on loan status and workflow challenges
- Train new team members on documentation and system protocols
- Stay current with changes in mortgage regulations
- Support secondary marketing teams with investor delivery requirements
- Ensure consistent customer experience across loan cycles
