BJAK is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer (LLM) to build applications with real-world impact. In this global hybrid role, you will fine-tune models, design evaluation frameworks, and bring AI features into production to ensure they are intelligent, safe, trustworthy, and scalable.
What You'll Do
- Use methods like LoRA/QLoRA to optimize open-source models such as LLaMA, Mistral, and Gemma.
- Craft prompts and curate datasets that reflect tone, brand voice, and safety requirements.
- Build metrics pipelines for perplexity, toxicity, and relevance to ensure safe and high-quality model outputs.
- Scale models into production with performance optimization and monitor for drift.
- Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to launch user-facing AI features.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with transformers, deep learning, and fine-tuning methods like LoRA/QLoRA, SFT, and distillation.
- Proficiency with PyTorch (preferred) or TensorFlow.
- Skilled in prompt engineering and dataset curation for alignment with tone, safety, and trust.
- Familiarity with evaluation metrics including perplexity, toxicity, and relevance.
- Strong software engineering foundations in algorithms, data structures, and clean code practices.
Nice to Have
- Prior work in text generation, moderation, or personalization.
- Experience with RLHF or reinforcement learning in LLMs.
- Contributions to open-source machine learning projects.
