Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the receiving department and lead continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate the handling of live birds, including unloading, drawer transport, and hanging, ensuring humane practices and adherence to animal welfare standards.
- Supervise equipment use and crew rotation for tasks such as forklift operation and finishing machine support to maintain efficient workflow and reduce downtime.
- Foster transparent communication and contribute to a respectful, productive workplace culture.
- Plan and assign personnel, materials, and equipment schedules to align with production demands.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and deliver ongoing, consistent feedback to team members.
- Uphold strict standards in safety, product yield, operational efficiency, and quality while supporting departmental objectives and financial targets.
- Assume additional duties as assigned to support overall plant operations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Capacity to make sound decisions independently
- Familiarity with basic computer applications
- Skill in managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Proficiency in fundamental math concepts
- Understanding of basic mechanical systems and equipment
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Willingness and ability to obtain Class A CDL within six months of hire
- Valid internal pallet jack certification
- Ability to earn internal pallet jack certification within one month of employment
- At least one year of prior supervisory experience leading teams of 20 or more
- Background in poultry or food manufacturing operations
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
