The Position This is an excellent opportunity for legal professionals seeking to expand their careers who are interested in gaining professional experience with a national law firm. Key Responsibilities: - Play a critical role in case preparation by obtaining medical records through authorizations and subpoenas, ensuring timely follow-ups with providers. - Maintain and streamline case data with well-structured discovery and records organizational charts to enhance efficiency. - Conduct vital research by issuing Open Public Records Requests and performing background investigations to support litigation strategy. - Analyze and summarize medical records summaries and medical treatment chronologies that provide crucial case insights. - Support attorneys in depositions and discovery by summarizing transcripts, managing key documents, and ensuring timely follow-ups on requests. - Manage document productions efficiently by reviewing, analyzing, and organizing files from opposing parties and co-defendants. - Prepare and organize materials for expert witness review, ensuring they have the necessary documentation for case assessments. - Keep case files impeccably organized and accessible, ensuring a smooth workflow for attorneys and litigation teams. - Collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain a strong team dynamic and ensure smooth case progression. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred. - 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a strong preference for those with insurance defense experience. - Exceptional writing and communication skills, ensuring clarity in documentation and correspondence. - Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, balancing multiple tasks with precision and efficiency. - Proven ability to draft subpoenas and maintain detailed records of received documents. - Highly organized and detailed-oriented, with a keen ability to manage large volumes of case materials. - Tech-savvy with sophisticated technical skills, including proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
