Responsibilities
- Monitor advancements in the Linux kernel to identify features relevant to product development and internal requirements.
- Design and maintain kernel-level functionality and test suites using C, C++, and Python, and participate in design and specification reviews.
- Collaborate with hardware teams and suppliers to evaluate new hardware components dependent on kernel support for product integration.
- Engage with the upstream Linux kernel community to contribute developed features and improvements.
- Partner with kernel engineering teams to integrate updated kernel versions into the operating system and development workflows.
- Lead technical initiatives across features, projects, and development tools.
- Support customer-facing engineers and clients by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network-related kernel issues.
- Collaborate with system test teams to investigate reported defects and implement corrective solutions.
- Guide and train entry-level and less experienced engineers in kernel development practices and internal workflows.
