Responsibilities
- Help design and implement legal workflows, procedures, and document templates from scratch
- Support the evaluation, selection, and rollout of contract and document management technologies
- Develop and manage a unified system for storing legal, contractual, and administrative records across 47+ brands
- Monitor engagements with external legal counsel, including billing and expense tracking
- Keep corporate records up to date, including formation documents and governance filings across multiple states
- Assist in maintaining capitalization tables and equity plan records in collaboration with finance teams
- Conduct legal due diligence for potential acquisitions, reviewing corporate, employment, real estate, and regulatory documents
- Prepare and analyze NDAs, transaction-related agreements, and post-closing obligations
- Support integration after acquisitions, including compliance with purchase agreements and successor liability tracking
- Research federal, state, and local employment laws across 18 states
- Update employment policies, onboarding materials, and separation agreements to meet legal standards
- Draft, review, and revise agreements with vendors, suppliers, and customers
- Develop standardized contract templates and guidance for use across business units
- Track key contractual terms, renewal deadlines, and ongoing obligations
- Investigate consumer protection laws relevant to home service operations
- Research licensing and registration requirements for trades across operating states
- Examine safety regulations, building codes, electrical standards, OSHA rules, and FLSA compliance
- Help create compliance tools and training resources for field teams
- Study federal and state privacy laws and support the development of data privacy initiatives
- Assess digital marketing practices and data collection methods for legal adherence
- Draft and update privacy notices, data processing agreements, and incident response protocols
- Review and summarize commercial leases across company locations
- Maintain a centralized database of lease terms, dates, and responsibilities
- Track legislative changes impacting HVAC, plumbing, and electrical industries
- Monitor proposed laws related to job training incentives, workforce development, and trade regulations
