About the Role

The Lead Video Editor will manage end-to-end post-production processes, mentor junior editors, and maintain visual standards across all video content. This role requires strong creative judgment, technical proficiency, and leadership skills to support timely delivery of engaging media.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of video editing projects from concept to completion
  • Supervise and mentor a team of video editors to maintain consistent quality
  • Establish and enforce editing standards, templates, and best practices
  • Collaborate with producers and directors to align on creative vision
  • Review and provide feedback on rough and final cuts
  • Ensure brand alignment and narrative clarity in all deliverables
  • Manage timelines and resources to meet production deadlines
  • Optimize post-production workflows for efficiency and scalability
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in editing software and file management
  • Oversee version control and asset organization
  • Coordinate with sound designers and colorists for final output
  • Integrate feedback from stakeholders into final edits
  • Stay current with emerging video trends and editing technologies
  • Contribute creative ideas during pre-production and development phases
  • Maintain compliance with licensing and copyright requirements
  • Prepare content for multiple platforms including social media and web

  • Background in podcast or interview-based video production
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and animation principles
