Responsibilities
- Lead the design and technical architecture of payment system components with an emphasis on scalability, security, and adherence to PCI DSS standards.
- Develop payment gateway integrations using domain-driven design and reactive programming methodologies.
- Work closely with information security and legal departments to enforce data classification and regulatory compliance measures.
- Mentor software engineers in payment systems, Java, test-driven development, and architectural best practices.
- Shape architectural direction through technical proposals, design evaluations, and collaboration across teams.
- Develop and execute thorough testing strategies, including unit, integration, and behavior-driven development testing.
- Take part in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues in payment systems.
- Lead technical projects from inception to completion, coordinating effectively with team members across Ireland, the USA, and Costa Rica.
- Help define and improve engineering standards, code review protocols, and development workflows.
- Stay informed about advancements in payment technologies, security practices, and fintech innovations.
