GE Vernova is looking for a Lead HMI Engineer to architect the next generation of Human Machine Interface systems for power management and process controls. You will finalize communication methods and interface tools, collaborating with global stakeholders and third-party vendors to create robust, safe, and high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement Human Machine Interface screens for power management systems and process controls based on IEC 61850 standards.
- Lead the development of next-generation HMI screens for software packages like Iconics and PCVue, complying with GE standards.
- Develop HMI applications to meet customer needs and upcoming cyber requirements.
- Design, implement, and support industrial communication networks for control system applications.
- Support Engineering Services field personnel in the technical resolution of field problems.
- Provide assistance with quality assurance on projects.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Significant software development experience for HMI platforms like Iconics, PCVue, Ifix, or Cimplicity.
Nice to Have
- Experience with industrial network communication protocols such as OPCUA/DA, IEC 61850, Modbus, TCP/IP, Profibus.
- Experience configuring interface drivers such as Matrikon drivers.
- Network Architecture knowledge – HMI Server Client Configuration, Redundant Server Configuration.
- Historian Knowledge, Configuring & knowledge of Alarm Management (Historical, SMS, Email, Voice).
- Report Generation Knowledge (Shift/Batch/Day) with Backend SQL & MS Access.
- A strong background in HMI application development for Iconics, PCVue products or other HMI packages.
- Experience in back-end scripting (VBA Scripting, C, C++).
- Experience interfacing with databases such as SQL, MS Access.
- Experience in the development and application of virtual machines in a Microsoft Windows operating environment.
- Experience in HMI application development and cyber protection requirements.
- Experience working in industrial controls, the power generation industry, IEC 61850 standards, and PRP/HSR networks.
- Strong computer skills: experience setting up Windows 10 and above applications and proficiency in MS Office.
- Technical skills in HMI design engineering and commissioning experience.
- Proven team player with solid cooperation, flexibility, and capacity to learn complex information quickly.
- Strong skills in scripting, visualization, optimization, and experience with multiple HMI platforms.
- Experience using Confluence/Jira and product development life cycle.
- Ability to produce roadmaps and planning.
- Field experience in related equipment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
