Responsibilities
- Provide first-line client-centric legal support to our North America Sales teams on commercial and legal issues.
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, master services agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, partnership agreements, and statements of work.
- Partner closely with Sales and Deal Desk stakeholders to understand the business objectives and hurdles, and drive strategic improvements.
- Work with internal technology teams to build AI-powered tools and processes to deliver business impact.
- Collaborate with other legal, compliance, and cross-functional groups to solve for the customer while effectively managing HubSpot’s risk.
Requirements
- graduate of an accredited law school
- minimum of 5+ years of relevant in-house legal experience
- in good standing and licensed to practice law as a member of a State Bar Association or equivalent professional qualification
- significant experience independently negotiating Enterprise SaaS contracts, including in highly-regulated industries (e.g. Financial Services and Healthcare)
- excellent legal drafting and writing skills
- strong foundation in data protection and privacy law
- able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team
- able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and transparent environment
- able to deliver solutions that go beyond existing playbooks and enablement
- appreciate the customer perspective and ‘solve for the customer’ mentality
- integrate technology and use/build AI in their daily practice to work smarter, not harder
- develop strong relationships based on trust with team members
- possess strong communication skills, especially via internal tools, Slack and Zoom (it’s how we communicate)
- self-driven and solution-oriented

- If you are joining our Engineering team, you will be required to attend a regional HubSpot office for in-person onboarding.
- If you join our broader Product team, you’ll also attend other in-person events, such as your Product Group Summit and other gatherings, to continue building on those connections.
