Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of engineering staff, managing deliverables, resolving issues, and escalating critical matters to senior leadership when necessary.
- Review and authorize time records for technical assistants and engineers, flagging discrepancies or concerns to upper management.
- Coordinate with production teams to establish external recording facilities, whether on-site or remote.
- Assign tasks to team members via the work diary and maintain clear communication across departments.
- Consult with clients to advise on optimal technical approaches for recording sessions.
- Guide internal staff on recommended technical standards and procedures for session execution.
- Remain available to operate equipment during studio or on-location recordings, including wild line capture and off-site audio shoots.
- Assist in preparing session materials such as audio/video references and dialogue scripts.
- Support upkeep of studio infrastructure and equipment, including identifying future technology requirements.
- Enhance studio offerings by refining services, workflows, and internal processes.
- Collaborate with directors, department heads, and managers to maintain industry-leading standards.
- Lead and develop the studio team through project assignments and performance oversight.
- Conduct routine one-on-one meetings to provide performance feedback aligned with KPIs and responsibilities.
- Assess staffing needs and manage resource planning to meet project demands.
- Monitor studio expenditure and report budgetary concerns to senior management.
- Partner with other department leads and executives to uphold and advance operational best practices.
