About the Role

This role involves guiding land use planning initiatives across diverse project types, ensuring alignment with zoning regulations, environmental standards, and client objectives through collaborative design and technical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of land use plans for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects
  • Conduct site evaluations to assess feasibility and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare comprehensive planning documents, including site plans and zoning analyses
  • Collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, and surveyors on integrated project solutions
  • Engage with local agencies to navigate permitting and approval processes
  • Facilitate public meetings and presentations for community input and project endorsement
  • Analyze land development codes and municipal regulations to guide project design
  • Support environmental review procedures under state and federal guidelines
  • Develop conceptual layouts that balance functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics
  • Coordinate with clients to define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Produce reports such as development impact assessments and growth management studies
  • Utilize GIS and mapping tools for spatial analysis and visualization
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for zoning changes or variances
  • Maintain awareness of urban design trends and planning best practices
  • Ensure projects meet accessibility standards and land use policies
  • Manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
  • Provide planning support during all project phases from concept to construction
  • Contribute to sustainable development strategies and long-range planning efforts
  • Review subdivision plans and land division proposals for compliance
  • Work closely with project managers to track progress and deliverables
  • Prepare illustrations and renderings to support planning applications
  • Interpret demographic and market data to inform land use recommendations
  • Support regional planning initiatives and transportation-related studies
  • Assist in the development of design guidelines and development standards
  • Stay current with changes in planning legislation and regulatory frameworks
