eTelligent Group LLC is hiring a Kong API Gateway Specialist

Responsibilities

• Architect, set up, and manage Kong API Gateway environments, including both open-source and enterprise versions, for large-scale service integration.
• Build and deploy custom plugins to handle authentication, access control, request throttling, data caching, logging, and payload transformation.
• Connect Kong with identity and access management systems and Zero Trust frameworks, supporting protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and mutual TLS.
• Create automated workflows for Kong configuration management using tools like decK, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Enforce adherence to federal cybersecurity regulations, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 control requirements.
• Track and enhance API performance through monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
• Assist in managing CI/CD pipelines for consistent API deployments across development, testing, staging, and live environments.
• Work closely with software engineers, integration teams, and IT operations to ensure reliable API delivery and compliance with code freeze policies.
• Produce technical documentation, operational guides, and training resources for internal teams.
