Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent performance, availability, and security of non-critical infrastructure components in line with defined service levels, with possible inclusion of critical systems when directed by senior team members.
  • Respond to support requests, assess reported issues, and resolve incidents using established procedures, escalating complex cases to senior administrators as needed.
  • Monitor 24/7 infrastructure elements not covered by operational detection systems and execute corrective actions according to documented playbooks.
  • Distribute monitoring summaries to relevant teams through Teams group chat or email, following predefined reporting schedules.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on non-critical systems, including removal of obsolete components, system backups, vendor-led preventive maintenance, and decommissioning activities.
  • Implement required system configurations and parameters across assigned infrastructure components as needed.
  • Set up systems in compliance with high availability standards expected within the client environment.
  • Enforce security baselines on systems, apply regular updates, address known vulnerabilities, and escalate critical patching needs to senior staff.
  • Carry out system modifications in non-production and non-critical environments under supervision from senior administrators.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for assigned incidents, review past occurrences for patterns, and resolve problems using existing playbooks, consulting seniors when challenges arise.
  • Manage capacity planning for hardware and software resources by analyzing historical data, projecting future demand, setting alert thresholds, and initiating resource provisioning when thresholds are exceeded.
  • Supply necessary documentation and data to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with infrastructure vendors to coordinate software updates, bug fixes, and technical support needs.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records of system inventories, technical runbooks, configuration settings, playbooks, and other required documentation, ensuring they remain current.
  • Perform additional duties or take on new responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain infrastructure uptime, performance, and security at agreed service levels for non-critical infrastructure components and facilities under his coverage. Critical infrastructure may be included under administrator, as necessary, under the guidance of seniors in the team.
  • Receives calls for support and reviews problems and performs resolution tasks based on existing playbooks. Escalates to seniors more complex issues for proper review and resolution.
  • Monitors 24/7 infrastructure components that are not being monitored by OD. Performs corrective actions based on existing playbooks.
  • Sends monitoring report to concerned teams via Teams GC or email based on the frequency defined for specific systems to be monitored.
  • Performs regular housekeeping on non-critical infrastructure components, e.g. cleanup of unnecessary components, system-level backup, vendor preventive maintenance, decommissioning, etc., as applicable.
  • Apply configuration requirements and parameters of systems under his coverage as required.
  • Configures the set-up of systems to conform to the high availability standards of the bank.
  • Applies the security set-up of systems to conform to bank security standards. Regularly patches and closes all vulnerability gaps. Raise to seniors any required and critical patches that need to be applied.
  • Performs system changes in non-production environment and non-critical systems, under the guidance of a senior administrator.
  • Performs root cause analysis for issues assigned to him. Looks into previous historical occurrences and derives similar root causes and performs problem resolution tasks with existing playbooks. Engage with seniors if difficulties encountered in finding the root cause and problem resolution.
  • Performs capacity management, for both hardware and software resources, by collecting historical statistics and forecasting future growth. Sets the necessary thresholds to alert if resources additions need to be made. Triggers the necessary implementation of resource allocations based on agreed thresholds hits.
  • Provides information required in compliance and audit concerns.
  • Communicates and coordinates with infrastructure vendors regarding product updates, fixes, and support requirements.
  • Documents the inventory list, TRP, configuration parameters, playbooks, and other assigned required documents, and keeps such documentation updated and secure.
  • Performs other functions or areas of responsibility that may be assigned by the immediate head.
