North American Construction Group was looking for a Journeyperson Automotive Mechanic (HET) (Kearl)

About the Role

The mechanic will diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty trucks and machinery used in industrial operations, focusing on preventative maintenance and timely repairs to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems on heavy equipment
  • Perform scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines
  • Repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical system faults
  • Replace worn or damaged components
  • Maintain accurate service records
  • Follow safety protocols during all repair operations
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify performance issues
  • Ensure compliance with equipment operating standards
  • Work in both shop and field environments
  • Collaborate with team members on complex repairs
  • Adhere to environmental and safety regulations
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly
  • Support fleet readiness through preventive maintenance
  • Install aftermarket parts when required
  • Lift heavy components using proper equipment
  • Communicate repair status to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in maintenance practices
