About the Role
The mechanic will diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty trucks and machinery used in industrial operations, focusing on preventative maintenance and timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems on heavy equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines
- Repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
- Diagnose and resolve electrical system faults
- Replace worn or damaged components
- Maintain accurate service records
- Follow safety protocols during all repair operations
- Use diagnostic tools to identify performance issues
- Ensure compliance with equipment operating standards
- Work in both shop and field environments
- Collaborate with team members on complex repairs
- Adhere to environmental and safety regulations
- Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly
- Support fleet readiness through preventive maintenance
- Install aftermarket parts when required
- Lift heavy components using proper equipment
- Communicate repair status to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement in maintenance practices
