Responsibilities
- Analyze complex business requirements and system narratives to develop functional and design specifications
- Suggest effective use of development tools and technologies to support long-term organizational goals
- Build, update, and sustain application software using approved agency technologies in domains such as data processing, financial systems, records management, and office automation
- Optimize system performance by tuning components and resolving technical issues
- Implement security measures in application code to safeguard sensitive data and client information
- Evaluate emerging technologies and transition legacy applications to modern, web-based platforms
- Follow configuration management protocols for source code and development artifacts
- Enable interoperability by integrating systems across departments and programs
- Collaborate with business, network, and publishing teams to extend web and network service capabilities
- Examine, test, modify, and document software programs, including debugging and coding tasks
