About the Role

Join Thales as an IVV On-board Software Engineer. You will be responsible for defining test strategies and leading validation teams for satellite flight software within our Digital Solutions France Competence Center. This role focuses on critical real-time software for Telecom, Observation, and Science satellites, building a future of trust through technological excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Define and implement a validation strategy covering all requirements while meeting quality, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Lead the IVV team by identifying resource needs and coordinating a multicultural, multi-site validation team.
  • Specify and set up the environments and tools necessary for software validation.
  • Define and execute validation procedures, including integration and debugging phases on target, in close collaboration with the development team.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage non-conformities through to the validation of their correction.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate progress and control quality.
  • Manage internal and external customer IVV milestones for Integration, Verification, and Validation.
  • Provide support to functional validation (VCF), Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT), and Operations teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Engineering degree or Master's degree (Bac+5) with a specialization in real-time computing or aerospace.
  • Minimum 10 years of successful experience in IVV within an embedded real-time software context.
  • Mastery of integration and validation processes, and implementation of automated tests.
  • Proficient in Eclipse and Linux environments, and mastery of scripting languages.
  • Fluent in French and English, with the ability to lead meetings in both languages.
  • Knowledge of satellite operations.
  • Mastery of ECSS standards.
  • Possession of a software validation certification.
  • Strong communication skills across teams and functions, and ability to uphold architectural quality.
  • Proactivity, analytical mind, autonomy, and adaptability.
  • Teamwork skills and good interpersonal sense.
  • Rigor and organization, essential given the criticality of satellite software.
