Responsibilities
- Deliver expert guidance in designing and building IT operational environments.
- Formulate strategic plans for client/server systems and define architectural frameworks to align with long-term goals.
- Investigate emerging technologies and recommend procurement decisions related to computing, storage, data access, and software development.
- Create strategic plans for assessing short- and long-term needs in space, hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Build models of computing and application environments to detect, analyze, and fix system performance issues.
- Track system utilization by workload category, recognize usage patterns, and forecast future resource demands.
- Ensure proper assignment and prioritization of IT tasks and initiatives based on program and customer requirements.
- Support project planning aimed at improving team efficiency and service quality.
- Lead, mentor, and guide junior technicians and system administrators.
- Collaborate with campus support staff to deliver end-user technical assistance as needed.
- Keep warranty records current and monitor infrastructure systems for warranty compliance.
- Oversee prompt resolution of hardware and software issues affecting data and voice networks.
- Assess new products and services for potential to enhance customer service delivery.
- Deliver advanced-level technical support for hardware and software issues experienced by end users.
- Provide off-hours support during scheduled maintenance, system updates, and technology changes outside regular business hours.
- Perform emergency on-call duties to address critical system outages or incidents.
- Manage and execute rotating shift work to ensure continuous 24x7 operations coverage.
