Responsibilities
- Transports materials to and from storage or work areas using pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, or similar equipment.
- Secures lifting devices to materials and safely moves loads using various forklift types.
- Counts, weighs, and documents quantities of materials handled or transferred.
- Applies identification labels or marks containers with relevant details for tracking.
- Bundles materials together using banding tools, tape, saran wrap, or clinchers.
- Connects sections of portable conveyor systems or positions them on supports to aid material movement.
- Extracts material samples and labels them with identifying data.
- Manually lifts heavy items or uses forklifts, and maintains cleanliness of workspaces and equipment using brooms, rags, and cleaning agents.
- Occasionally operates industrial trucks or electric hoists to support loading and material transport.
- Verifies physical inventory against recorded counts.
- Enters received materials into the inventory management system.
- Conducts periodic cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
