Responsibilities
- Carry out daily operations and long-term planning for software asset oversight
- Track and manage software tools to align with vendor contract terms
- Oversee software from acquisition to retirement, including deployment and renewal
- Ensure adherence to licensing agreements and regulatory standards via ongoing monitoring
- Keep precise records of software licenses, configurations, and entitlements in SAM and CMDB systems
- Work with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams to improve efficiency and reduce expenses
- Lead efforts to optimize software use, including reclaiming unused licenses and reducing duplication
- Verify and manage software inventory data, including relationships and lifecycle stages
- Generate compliance, audit, and usage reports with trend and risk insights
- Assist in forecasting software needs and budget planning using spend analysis
- Advance SAM tools, workflows, and data accuracy through continuous improvement
- Monitor software spending to stay within budget and support financial planning
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement to review costs, validate renewals, and allocate expenses
- Develop and maintain documentation for policies, procedures, and reporting related to IT assets
