Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to provide telehealth services as part of our multi-disciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will deliver culturally sensitive primary care to a multicultural, multilingual outpatient population, with a dedicated focus on removing barriers to healthcare access.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive health assessments, including history and physical examinations, order or perform diagnostic tests, and prescribe medication.
- Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic conditions, providing necessary follow-up care.
- Promote and maintain periodic health assessments and preventive screenings.
- Provide clinical oversight of NP/PA trainees, NP residents, and/or new providers.
- Direct medical assistants, lab personnel, and other non-professional medical staff.
- Provide in-service training for staff on medical topics as deemed necessary.
- Complete all electronic health record duties including documentation, coding, and chart sign-off within designated timelines.
- Assist in internal quality control audits and maintain standards of quality of care.
- Discuss or refer complex and high-priority patient cases.
- Adhere to all ethical canons and the organization's code of conduct.
- Attend internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences as required.
- Travel to and from service sites as needed.
- Assist in educating patients and the community in preventive healthcare.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Must reside within the State of California.
- Board Certified/Eligible in designated specialty field of practice.
- Current medical license to practice in the State of California, including DEA license and CPR.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine.
- Ability to meet or exceed TVHC’s Service Excellence Standards.
- Willing and able to work periodic evenings and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to travel to other TVHC sites or locations as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including creativity, resourcefulness, and technical knowledge.
- Sensitivity to needs of culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
- Ability to utilize computer technology and adapt to evolving technological requirements.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience providing medical care within a community health setting.
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish.
