Employment Hero is seeking an Intermediate Quality Engineer (Automation) to act as the dedicated quality owner for the Marketing Engineering squad. Your mission is to ensure every release of our marketing websites is delivered with consistency, clarity, and confidence. You will start with hands-on manual testing while progressively introducing automation for high-value flows.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end quality of our marketing websites, ensuring every release is reliable and regression-free.
- Test new features, fixes, and templates across Web, WordPress, and API integrations.
- Build clear test cases, regression checklists, and QA standards for the squad.
- Work with PMs and developers to clarify requirements early and prevent gaps before development starts.
- Improve processes around documentation, version control, and deployment discipline.
- Develop lightweight automated tests and integrate them into our CI/CD pipeline over time.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose smarter, faster ways to ensure quality at scale.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer across manual and automation testing.
- Strong experience testing web applications end to end.
- Hands-on experience using automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Detox, or Maestro.
- Comfortable working with JavaScript or TypeScript in modern web automation frameworks and have practical experience writing or maintaining automation scripts.
- Can write clear, structured test cases, regression checklists, and detailed bug reports.
- Familiarity with REST API testing and can validate API behaviour as part of end-to-end testing.
- Communicate clearly, proactively seek clarification when requirements are incomplete, and collaborate effectively with engineers and PMs.
- Maintain high attention to detail and can identify inconsistencies and potential risks early.
- Think long term and look for ways to automate or streamline repetitive testing activities.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with WordPress template hierarchy or other CMS workflows.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines that run automated tests.
- Supported marketing websites, SEO-related features, or tracking integrations.
- Experience setting up or improving QA processes in small or fast-moving teams.
- Bring a continuous improvement mindset and enjoy helping the team operate with more clarity, consistency, and efficiency.
