About the Role

The Interconnection Manager will lead efforts to secure interconnection agreements for renewable energy facilities, overseeing technical studies, regulatory filings, and coordination with utilities and grid operators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interconnection application processes for renewable energy projects
  • Coordinate with transmission providers to establish grid access
  • Manage technical studies including feasibility and system impact analyses
  • Prepare and submit interconnection requests and supporting documentation
  • Track milestones and deadlines throughout the interconnection timeline
  • Interpret utility requirements and regulatory guidelines
  • Liaise with engineering teams to align project designs with grid needs
  • Negotiate interconnection agreements with utilities and regional operators
  • Monitor changes in interconnection policies and regulations
  • Support project development teams with interconnection strategy
  • Resolve technical and procedural issues during the review process
  • Maintain detailed records of all interconnection activities
  • Facilitate communication between internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Provide updates on interconnection status to project managers
  • Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, and regional reliability standards
  • Assist in identifying necessary grid upgrades and associated costs
  • Evaluate transmission constraints affecting project viability
  • Work with legal and regulatory specialists on compliance matters
  • Develop timelines and action plans for multi-phase interconnection efforts
  • Support due diligence for project acquisitions involving interconnection rights
