Responsibilities
- Use testing as an integral design method to advance components, systems, and subsystems from basic bench setups to fully integrated Vehicle, Mission, and Support Systems ready for production
- Develop complete physical and electrical data measurement systems, spanning sensors and transducers through data acquisition, real-time external monitoring, telemetry, and post-processing tools across all integration stages
- Build, configure, and commission test setups including test racks, breakout boxes, harnesses, and associated test infrastructure
- Equip high-fidelity Hardware In the Lab (HIL) and Hardware In The Loop (HITL) environments with instrumentation, including setups involving high-voltage and high-power hybrid powertrains
- Assist in flight testing and data gathering using both piloted and unmanned surrogate aircraft classified as Group 3 UAS
- Establish, deploy, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and telemetry systems for both prototype and production-representative Omen platforms during ground and flight operations
- Apply a rigorous safety-first approach—stop, think, act—to ensure safe execution of tasks in experimental test settings and prevent harm to personnel
- Participate in Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) to verify that all tests are prepared for safe and efficient execution
- Lead consistent instrumentation configuration management across all stationary and airborne integration platforms
Work Arrangement
On-site — Costa Mesa
Other
- Candidate must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance in the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia
- Work takes place in experimental settings that demand a strong commitment to safety practices
- Position plays a direct role in shaping product development within a lean, high-ownership engineering culture
- Engineers will see new designs flown within months rather than years
