SGS Australia / Fulcrum Robotics is hiring an Inspector (Guam)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quantity and quality inspection or verification of ships, barges, and pipeline transfers for petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical products, following the management system, applicable international and local standards, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee measurement and calibration tasks in line with company standards, legal requirements, and client specifications.
  • Conduct visual inspection, volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of products in vessels, barges, pipelines, shore tanks, and other storage facilities.
  • Review and comprehend customer instructions, job orders, and operational requirements before starting inspection activities.
  • Attend and monitor loading, unloading, transfer, and displacement operations involving petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical products.
  • Arrive punctually at assigned job sites and coordinate effectively with vessel personnel, terminal representatives, transport personnel, customers, and SGS staff.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules, operational procedures, and customer requirements while performing assigned duties.
  • Report operational issues, discrepancies, incidents, hazards, or customer concerns to the Operations Executive immediately.
  • Accurately calculate loading, discharge, transfer, and inventory quantities and prepare inspection reports within set timelines.
  • Complete, sign, and submit field inspection reports for services performed.
  • Label, handle, preserve, and deliver samples according to SGS procedures and customer requirements.
  • Prepare all required documentation, equipment, tools, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE) before going to the work site.
  • Keep work areas, records, equipment, and supplies clean, organized, and in serviceable condition.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition, properly calibrated, verified, and clean.
  • Perform routine equipment verification and function checks and monitor the availability of equipment and supplies needed for inspection jobs.
  • Report any equipment or supply needs to the Operations Executive.
  • Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
  • Assist in investigations related to customer complaints, nonconformities, incidents, and audit findings as directed by management.
  • Perform inspection assignments in other operational areas as needed to support customer commitments and business needs.
  • Ensure work instructions and technical requirements are clearly understood before starting activities.
  • Prepare and verify equipment suitability, identification status, calibration validity, and verification records before use.
  • Perform calibration, verification, and measurement activities according to SGS procedures, API (American Petroleum Institute) standards, statutory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Prepare accurate calibration and measurement reports and perform quality checks before submission.
  • Ensure equipment remains fit for purpose and properly maintained while under assigned custody.
  • Maintain communication with the Operations Executive regarding job progress, equipment status, and operational updates.

  • Hours: Able to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 availability and job assignments at any time, even on scheduled days off.

  • Clearance: Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card may be required.
  • License: Valid driver's license required.
