Parity is seeking an Infrastructure Security Engineer to play a crucial role in our Security team. In this remote position, you will use your understanding of people, systems, and security to advocate for and influence best practices within our diverse organization, facilitating smooth development and implementation processes. You will be pivotal in advising our Infra Engineering and IT teams on security topics, supporting their work from a security standpoint as we develop open-source software to make Polkadot the most active and innovative community in blockchain.
What You'll Do
- Advise Infra Engineering and IT teams on security topics and support their work from a security standpoint.
- Automate security controls and security hardening of the developer and IaC processes (building, testing, release).
- Manage supply chain security (part of the build process), related metrics and monitoring/audits.
- Handle network, VM & container image and system hardening, Cloud issues and misconfigurations.
- Manage Endpoint Security, Infrastructure Identity and Access Management, SIEM, Threat intelligence, and common misconfigurations (DNS, email, networking, etc.).
- Organise and perform penetration testing of our infrastructure, and collaborate with external parties on those tests.
- Pick tools, methods and approaches to maintain and improve the security stance of the company.
- Write and enable adoption of company-wide security standards and guidelines, as well as implementing tools and automation to enable their deployment.
- Mentor other team members on all matters related to security and IT and infrastructure engineering.
What We're Looking For
- You are focused on outcomes (rather than activities) and outcome-based delivery.
- Ability to partner with multiple teams to tackle issues, clarify requirements, communicate with and convince stakeholders.
- Comfortable with a Linux-based tech stack (managed VMs, SSH, VPNs, firewalls).
- Experience with Kubernetes (including managed), Terraform, Ansible, Github, Gitlab, ArgoCD, and Image registries.
- Experience with various cloud platforms including Google Cloud and non-managed providers.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of blockchain technology and associated tooling (wallets, keys, RPC nodes and indexers, etc.).
