Responsibilities
- Integrate with your team and the wider engineering group
- Study the company’s infrastructure, tools, and processes (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, etc.)
- Familiarize yourself with reliability, security, and incident management procedures
- Join the on-call rotation with support from colleagues
- Take charge of a defined infrastructure project and implement gradual enhancements
- Develop working relationships across engineering and related departments
- Independently implement infrastructure changes that boost reliability, performance, or security
- Understand how infrastructure meets product and customer needs, and convert requirements into practical technical solutions
- Advance operational excellence through runbooks, automation, and system enhancements
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code
- Work with cross-functional partners to execute infrastructure projects
- Participate in an on-call rotation (one week every four weeks) and help sustain system reliability
- Foster a positive team environment by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
- Continuously enhance your technical skills and operational effectiveness
