Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the client to implement and maintain operational security protocols.
• Evaluates potential security risks within systems and defines security requirements for deployment and validation.
• Reviews and oversees active security controls to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
• Produces and updates security checklists, templates, and supporting tools used in authorization and assessment activities.
• Conducts security control evaluations following NIST 800-53A standards and continuous monitoring mandates.
• Executes risk assessments to identify threats and proposes appropriate protective measures.
• Identifies system vulnerabilities early and suggests alternative controls to reduce exposure.
• Prepares formal security authorization documentation aligned with client contract stipulations.
• Authors key security documents including System Security Plan, Contingency Plan, Incident Response Plan, SOPs, POA&Ms, remediation strategies, and Configuration Management Plan.
• Tracks and updates client-specific Plans of Action and Milestones while assisting in remediation efforts.
• Keeps an accurate and current inventory of all hardware and software components in the information system.
• Designs, validates, and delivers training for contingency and incident response procedures.
• Performs independent vulnerability scans across applications, networks, and databases, and leverages Managed Security Services VAT support when needed.
