About the Role
The technician will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems across various job sites, ensuring optimal performance and client safety while delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems
- Diagnose and repair system malfunctions efficiently
- Read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints
- Ensure all work complies with local and national safety codes
- Test system performance using specialized tools and gauges
- Replace defective components such as motors, thermostats, and compressors
- Maintain accurate service records and logs
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls
- Communicate clearly with clients about system issues and repairs
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations
- Provide estimates for repair and replacement options
- Follow workplace safety protocols at all times
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Coordinate service schedules with dispatch and customers
- Inspect ductwork for leaks and inefficiencies
- Balance airflow across HVAC systems
- Educate customers on proper system operation
- Support apprentices and junior technicians in the field
- Keep service vehicle stocked and organized
- Submit completed work orders daily
- Adhere to company policies on professionalism and punctuality
- Troubleshoot electrical control systems
- Work in various environments including tight spaces and rooftops
- Operate ladders and lifts safely during installations
