Responsibilities
- Oversee contractor work quality on urban and rural transportation infrastructure projects, from minor upgrades to major capital developments
- Examine on-site materials for quality and adherence to project specifications
- Supervise contractor operations related to safety protocols, environmental protection, and traffic control measures
- Serve as the main point of contact between project stakeholders, including clients and contractors, while aligning with the project management team
- Manage contract processes including reviewing requests for information, submittals, non-conformance reports, change orders, and leading bi-weekly construction meetings
- Produce and deliver weekly progress reports to clients
- Record and verify monthly quantities for accurate contractor payment processing
- Compile final project summaries, including detailed quantity reports and documentation
- Coordinate surveying efforts, materials testing, and scale/checker operations
- Track project timelines, manage testing schedules, and collaborate with contractor teams
- Escalate critical issues impacting project cost or scope to the assigned engineer
- Review construction methods with design teams and contractors to confirm alignment with plans and specifications
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, performance criteria, codes, and specifications through regular inspections
- Perform daily field inspections, keep accurate records, and evaluate inspection reports from other personnel
- Take part in final punch list walkthroughs and monitor warranty-related repairs
- Be available for assignments requiring travel to remote or out-of-town project sites

On-site — Calgary, Central Alberta, Southern Alberta, and nearby provinces and territories

- This position involves significant travel, with frequent work outside the Calgary region
- Depending on project location, employees may commute daily or be required to stay in temporary accommodations for prolonged durations
