Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts with lifting capacities up to 25,000 pounds
- Load and unload lumber, steel, and engineered wood products from trucks, railcars, and shipping containers
- Secure cargo on railcars using proper rigging techniques, tie-downs, and safety protocols to prevent movement during transport
- Perform tasks at elevated heights during freight inspection, loading, and securing while complying with fall protection regulations
- Support inventory management for incoming, outgoing, and on-ground materials with accurate recordkeeping
- Develop load plans for railcars, trucks, or shipping containers as needed
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and servicing on forklifts and related equipment
- Assist in maintaining yard cleanliness and performing general upkeep tasks
- Help clean machinery, cut steel strapping for cargo stabilization, and oversee proper disposal of waste materials
- Inspect and confirm product condition to ensure cleanliness and compliance with loading standards
- Follow all established safety practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Propose improvements in work processes and equipment use to enhance team and operational efficiency
- Travel to other transload facilities when required to support operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff
