Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies, and prepare for operations at the start of each shift.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Assess technical or physical status using onboard computer, service documents, and product improvement programs.
Verify findings by reviewing gauge readings and procedures against manufacturer specifications.
Develop a correction plan, consulting with coworkers or lead when needed.
Order parts from stock or send to special service shop for necessary tooling or alterations.
Install, replace, rebuild, or repair parts and equipment promptly and according to specifications.
Test parts or equipment and perform quality checks after completion.
Paint components and pressure wash parts and equipment as necessary.
Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain company vehicles.
Secure all equipment and machinery at end of shift and complete required paperwork.
Ensure departmental compliance with safety and contamination control guidelines.
Maintain productivity at predetermined levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED.
Successful completion of level three service technician development program.
6+ years of experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system mechanic repair.
Knowledge of engine and equipment lines sold by the company.
Comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and engines application, operation, and function.
Ability to use and apply all Caterpillar diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic system applications.
Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and repair options for Caterpillar machines, engines, and components.
Basic keyboarding skills.
