Responsibilities
- Establish scalable engineering practices while fostering ownership, psychological safety, initiative, supportiveness, and servant leadership
- Shape and refine the long-term engineering vision and strategic direction to enable 10x growth, aligning technical roadmaps with business objectives and trade-offs like speed versus quality
- Lead organization-wide engineering planning, incorporating team priorities and securing required investments in staffing, tools, and infrastructure
- Collaborate with the CTO and leaders across Product, Machine Learning, Sales, and People to align product, business, and talent strategies
- Align recruitment efforts with company goals by refining hiring processes, forecasting needs, and strengthening employer value proposition
- Enhance collaboration across teams by reducing silos, eliminating redundancy, and improving coordination with Product functions while ensuring transparency
- Support Engineering Managers through coaching, career development, and regular 1:1s; define and maintain career progression frameworks for senior engineers and managers
- Work with managers to mature the engineering function by refining software development lifecycle, quality assurance, and service level objectives
- Empower teams to track and improve engineering performance by defining metrics, identifying risks early, and leading reviews on planning and delivery outcomes
