Responsibilities
- Assume full accountability for the fund and its counterparty relationships, ensuring a seamless transition from the outgoing team.
- Define your working cadence with the Investment Committee and the licensed Investment Manager.
- Develop the future plan for Xapo's structured product offerings and allocate resources to execute it.
- Establish the strategic direction and internal perspective on structured investment solutions, identifying and creating new products for Xapo's clients.
- Drive the delivery of yield products, tokenization initiatives, Bitcoin Backed Loans, and other new structures from concept to launch, covering payoff profiles, delivery mechanisms, and regulatory implications.
- Lead Xapo's internal investment committee, a monthly meeting with the CEO, CFO, and Head of Product, to discuss new ideas, products, and structures.
- Conduct thorough initial due diligence on potential counterparties and ongoing due diligence on existing ones, including financial analysis, business processes, and risk assessment.
- Prepare credit assessments in a standardized format suitable for review by the licensed Investment Manager and the Investment Committee.
- Maintain continuous credit risk oversight of the portfolio, ensuring positions are managed appropriately and the fund operates within its mandate.
- Set, monitor, and enforce exposure, concentration, and limit frameworks, promptly escalating breaches and emerging risks.
- Collaborate with the Risk function on price risk and credit risk evaluation, system requirements, and regulatory implications.
- Identify and source new counterparties for the fund to lend to.
- Prepare and present due diligence and lending proposals to the Investment Committee, ensuring the quality and rigor of the committee process.
- Support Legal in negotiating the fund's standard documentation with counterparties until closing.
- Maintain and evolve counterparty relationships throughout the life of each facility, keeping engagement current on all commercial and operational matters.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the external licensed Investment Manager for regulated fund management activities, maintaining constant communication.
- Oversee fund operations and accounting, coordinating with the fund administrator and fund accountant to ensure accurate NAV calculation and resolve operational issues.
- Support Xapo Operations and the fund accountant with reconciliation to ensure all data matches correctly.
- Allocate coin and capital inflows from investors sourced by Xapo.
- Represent the fund internally, keeping the wider Xapo organization informed on positioning, activity, and performance.
- Work closely with Treasury, providing advisory input on risk evaluation, trading and execution, and system requirements.
- Contribute banking input on ALCO, stress testing, and pricing.
- Build, manage, and develop the Structured Solutions team, mentoring junior analysts and expanding the team as the function grows, with the mandate to shape the team's size and structure over time.
- Enable the team by surfacing and resolving blockers quickly, conducting regular one-on-ones, and taking ownership of team well-being.
- Represent the team within Xapo, articulating its needs and keeping the organization informed.
