Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the manufacturing engineering activities within the plant or operational unit.
- Convert the site's manufacturing engineering strategy into executable action plans and drive execution.
- Support strategic and operational planning, including investment, capacity, and workforce planning.
- Drive achievement of manufacturing engineering goals in line with customer requirements.
- Lead investment planning and execution for production systems, automation, and engineering tools.
- Promote continuous improvement using standardized methodologies and training programs.
- Collaborate with business and functional teams to identify local needs in areas such as safety, health, and ergonomics.
- Lead or participate in global and local cross-functional engineering projects.
- Manage team development through regular performance discussions, coaching, and growth planning.
- Develop, review, and oversee manufacturing engineering budgets and financial forecasts.
- Deliver accurate financial reporting to control functions on schedule.
- Execute initiatives within approved budget parameters.
- Ensure financial targets for the department are achieved.
- Design and deploy integrated factory-wide processes, including production models, facility layouts, simulations, and cost models using lean principles.
- Work with Product and Process Industrialization teams to implement new product launches and process changes.
- Establish standardized work documentation, including operation sheets and time standards, based on defined protocols.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, validation, and transfer of production and supply chain equipment to operations.
- Develop and manage IT systems for production and supply chain, including automation software and hardware in alignment with industry standards.
- Plan and execute maintenance programs for production and logistics equipment, IT systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Ensure sufficient staffing levels for engineering roles in coordination with human resources.
- Drive ongoing skills development and certification of engineering personnel with HR support.
- Monitor and report key performance metrics for production, including cost, quality, efficiency, and energy use.
- Track and evaluate manufacturing engineering performance using defined KPIs.
- Initiate and manage improvement projects to enhance both production and engineering effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with corporate manufacturing engineering standards at the local level.
