Responsibilities
- Lead the development and expansion of the legal department while advising senior leadership on legal implications, risks, and strategic business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Go-to-Market, Finance, and People teams to identify potential legal challenges and deliver practical, business-aligned solutions.
- Take full ownership of commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, reseller arrangements, channel partnerships, NDAs, data processing agreements, and third-party vendor contracts.
- Design and maintain standardized contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency across legal operations.
- Act as the main legal advisor for revenue-related initiatives and support efforts to accelerate deal execution.
- Provide guidance on regulatory requirements, data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA, cybersecurity issues, and legal aspects of product development.
- Create and update privacy policies to ensure alignment with evolving legal standards and business practices.
- Handle corporate governance tasks, including board documentation, cap table management, equity awards (options and RSUs), and 409A valuation processes.
- Support upcoming funding activities, including analysis of term sheets, due diligence preparation, and coordination of closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate corporate records and oversee external legal counsel in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and strategic deals.
- Advise HR and People teams on employment law compliance, personnel policies, offer letters, and internal investigations.
- Contribute to the creation of scalable policies that support organizational growth and operational maturity.
- Oversee relationships with outside law firms, defining project scope, tracking progress, and managing legal expenses.
