Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure organizational capabilities support long-term business goals and performance sustainability.
- Act as a strategic HR partner by analyzing human capital challenges and aligning HR initiatives with corporate strategy using data insights.
- Lead workforce planning and organizational design to meet current and future operational demands.
- Promote a high-performance culture rooted in company values, emphasizing accountability, diversity, and employee engagement.
- Design and manage talent strategies including hiring, development, succession planning, and performance systems specific to Canada’s labor environment.
- Work with management to create programs that improve employee engagement, retention, and leadership capability.
- Offer guidance to managers on performance, employee relations, and workforce productivity.
- Oversee all HR operations such as recruitment, onboarding, training, compensation, benefits, leaves, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure full compliance with Canadian federal, provincial (Alberta/Ontario), and local employment laws including labor standards, human rights, safety, workers’ compensation, and privacy regulations.
- Develop, interpret, and implement HR policies that align with legal requirements, collective agreements, and internal standards.
- Stay current on changes in employment legislation, labor market trends, and regulatory updates impacting Canadian operations.
- Manage labor relations including union engagement, contract administration, grievance resolution, and arbitration readiness.
- Represent the organization in hearings, investigations, and external discussions involving employees and regulatory agencies.
- Partner with operations to reduce absenteeism and turnover through data-driven strategies and targeted actions.
- Design and execute HR programs and process enhancements to improve organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
- Use HR metrics and reporting to evaluate program success and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with centralized HR and shared services to maintain consistency while tailoring solutions to Canadian needs.
- Support immigration compliance processes such as work permits and LMIA applications where required.
- Perform additional duties aligned with the role's scope and accountability.
