IFRS Foundation is hiring a Head of Financial Control

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow financial control teams globally, promoting accountability, technical precision, and ongoing development.
  • Provide strategic direction for the organization’s financial control framework, aligning with business goals and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, regulators, and internal parties on financial control and statutory reporting matters.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory accounts across all legal jurisdictions.
  • Manage group-wide financial consolidation and the creation of consolidated financial statements per applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure all statutory submissions are accurate, complete, and filed on time.
  • Lead and manage the month-end closing process, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and precision across all regions and units.
  • Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly management reports that clearly reflect financial performance with accuracy and insight.
  • Promote uniformity in reporting formats, templates, and methods across all countries.
  • Lead the annual external audit, coordinating schedules, auditor engagement, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment by enforcing compliance with policies, procedures, and reconciliation practices globally.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting, legal, regulatory, and internal governance rules.
  • Identify, design, and implement process enhancements to strengthen controls, reduce risk, and improve reporting quality and speed.
  • Advance automation and system efficiency in financial control workflows through collaboration with technology teams.
  • Standardize processes, documentation, and controls across countries to ensure consistency and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Finance Operations, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other departments to ensure aligned and accurate financial reporting.
  • Deliver technical accounting expertise and financial insights to senior leaders, regional teams, and project groups.
  • Support key strategic projects with reliable financial data and strong governance practices.
  • Develop, track, and refine service level agreements and key performance indicators for financial control functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all reporting cycles, including month-end, quarter-end, and annual filings.
  • Track and report performance metrics and control issues, fostering accountability across the team.
