Responsibilities
- Deliver presentations and instructional sessions at major industry and academic conferences such as CLEO, Photonics West, IEEE Photonics, OFC, and SPIE
- Conduct interactive workshops that guide researchers from beginner level to running functional Tidy3D simulations
- Travel to university departments in photonics, electrical engineering, and physics to showcase the simulation platform to faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students
- Lead technical seminars, lab discussions, and departmental talks to promote platform adoption
- Develop comprehensive tutorials, executable example notebooks, and detailed application guides covering areas like silicon photonics, optical interconnects, metasurfaces, and waveguide design
- Produce video demonstrations and step-by-step walkthroughs for online learning
- Create ready-to-use course materials that educators can integrate directly into university curricula
- Publish blog articles, technical explanations, and social media content to increase visibility and understanding
- Serve as the primary public representative of Tidy3D within the academic photonics research community
- Expand the user base among students, faculty advocates, and research teams
- Respond to user inquiries across forums, GitHub, and social platforms
- Gather and relay user feedback to the product development team regarding usability, challenges, and feature gaps
