Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end hardware development for battery-powered IoT devices, including lighting and control systems, from initial concept to full-scale manufacturing.
- Define power system architecture and estimate battery life for both primary lithium (CR series) and rechargeable lithium-ion applications.
- Optimize power consumption by measuring microamp-level currents, designing sleep and wake strategies, and planning power budgets.
- Design and evaluate power management ICs, charging circuits, and battery protection systems to ensure safety and long-term reliability.
- Incorporate wireless technologies such as BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and Sub-GHz into hardware designs, including signal integrity and antenna performance tuning.
- Lead electromagnetic compatibility and electrostatic discharge troubleshooting and guide products through regulatory certification processes independently.
- Act as the primary technical contact with EMS and ODM partners during new product introduction and volume production ramp-up.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, quality assurance, and project management teams to meet product performance, timeline, and quality goals.
- Guide and train junior engineering staff in best practices for low-power design, battery-based products, and manufacturing execution.
