Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a unified piping quality control strategy, governance model, and baseline compliance requirements across all business units
- Serve as the principal technical expert for assessing, escalating, and resolving piping quality risks
- Define clear roles and responsibilities for piping quality assurance across project teams
- Promote a forward-thinking quality mindset focused on prevention rather than correction of defects
- Coordinate with senior leaders in operations, engineering, commissioning, and procurement functions
- Create, update, and refine piping-related workflows, instructions, forms, and technical documentation
- Oversee piping procedures to ensure they are clear, uniform, and effective
- Detect procedural weaknesses, redundancies, or inefficiencies and lead corrective actions
- Design quality processes specific to data center liquid cooling loop systems
- Maintain adherence to ASME B31.3, EN 13480, and PED 2014/68/EU regulations
- Ensure compliance with welding standards including ASME IX and ISO 9606
- Uphold non-destructive testing (NDT) protocols and client-specific inspection criteria
- Apply relevant industry codes and best practices to piping quality systems
- Set mandatory compliance thresholds based on system classification using a risk-based traceability method
- Provide expert interpretation and direction on welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR)
- Oversee welder qualification testing (WQT) standards and compliance
- Enforce material traceability throughout the supply and installation chain
- Lead and manage a corporate-wide audit program for piping quality and regulatory compliance
- Incorporate insights from past projects into updated standards and practices
- Define and implement a standardized end-to-end weld traceability system, including weld mapping and unique identification
- Ensure traceability links between each weld, the performing welder, applicable WPS, and materials used
- Guarantee full traceability back to material heat numbers and certification documentation when required
- Establish requirements for accurate weld logs that are field-verified and linked to ISO standards
- Manage redlined isometric drawings and document control processes
- Set governance standards for data accuracy, audit preparedness, and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
