Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Ltd. is hiring a Group Lead Intellectual Property Counsel

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term intellectual property strategies that align with business expansion, market positioning, and risk reduction
  • Oversee a portfolio of patent litigation cases in North America, including those related to abbreviated new drug applications and biosimilars under Hatch-Waxman and BPCIA frameworks
  • Direct the formulation and execution of legal arguments, defense tactics, and litigation plans, including supervision of outside legal firms
  • Conduct and verify freedom-to-operate analyses for products covering active pharmaceutical ingredients, chemical processes, formulations, and crystalline forms
  • Lead the preparation, filing, and ongoing management of patent applications in collaboration with research teams and international colleagues
  • Manage intellectual property assessments for inbound licensing deals, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances
  • Deliver high-level IP guidance to commercial units for shaping product portfolios, launch timelines, and transaction evaluations
  • Collaborate closely with research, regulatory, portfolio management, and business development functions to synchronize IP planning with scientific and corporate goals
  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory and patent law issues, market exclusivity structures, litigation exposure, and potential product launch pathways
