SpaceX is hiring a Global Supply Manager, Pipeline and Gas (Starlink)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, energy, and finance teams to shape long-term gas supply plans, pipeline development roadmaps, and approved vendor lists, aligning with projected power needs 12 to 36 months in advance.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement and contracting for natural gas supply, firm transportation, storage, pipeline capacity, and related infrastructure to ensure over 99.9% delivery reliability amid aggressive project timelines.
  • Negotiate long-term commercial and precedent agreements with producers, marketers, and midstream firms, covering pricing, volume, flexibility, dedicated pipeline builds, interconnection rights, and priority access during supply constraints.
  • Oversee pipeline projects from procurement to commissioning, coordinating with contractors, regulators, and operators to expedite delivery while upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Use predictive analytics, market intelligence, and AI-based forecasting to identify risks from price swings, supply disruptions, regulation changes, pipeline limits, or geopolitical events, and implement preemptive solutions.
  • Maintain cost leadership through should-cost analysis, structured pricing, risk mitigation, pipeline design optimization, and portfolio management, without compromising reliability for critical computing clusters.
  • Develop strategic alliances with suppliers and midstream partners via executive reviews, joint initiatives, and co-developed innovations such as high-pressure laterals, smart metering, low-emission systems, and fast-deployable pipeline solutions.
  • Promote sustainability and ethical sourcing across the gas and pipeline supply chain, including methane reduction, low-carbon supply options, and circular material practices.
  • Monitor trends in natural gas markets, pipeline regulations (including FERC and PHMSA), LNG developments, midstream projects, and on-site power systems, then convert insights into forward-looking infrastructure strategies.
  • Amplify organizational impact by guiding cross-functional teams on energy supply chain practices and cultivating a culture of accountability, speed, technical rigor, regulatory foresight, and continuous improvement.
