Responsibilities
- Oversees the management of SDE data and operation of Esri Roads and Highways alongside other enterprise geodatabases
- Conducts geospatial data processing, ETL tasks, and publishes data into central geodatabases
- Obtains, manages, and distributes GIS data to support transportation department operations
- Ensures enterprise geodatabase content, metadata, and geoportal remain current and complete
- Oversees timely data updates and helps resolve data governance and quality concerns
- Manages access controls, security, distribution, and retention policies for GIS data
- Handles replication, synchronization, and restoration of geodatabase environments
- Builds and maintains data caches for improved performance
- Provides support for user workflows involving data compression, versioning, and multi-user editing
- Implements and maintains data security protocols and access restrictions
- Applies standardized design principles to geodatabase development and structure
- Develops and maintains automation workflows using Active Batch, Model Builder, Workflow Manager, and FME
- Transfers raster data collections to Image Server platforms
- Performs administration, configuration, tuning, and performance tracking of geodatabases in coordination with Oracle DBAs
- Collaborates with data warehouse teams to build spatial and data views
- Produces geodatabase design documentation, metadata records, data models, and schemas
- Enables GIS data integration with transportation design systems based on Bentley Microstation

- Supports over 300 ArcGIS Desktop users via Citrix virtual machines
- Handles over 60,000 annual visits to geospatial web applications on ArcGIS Server
- Develops Esri ArcGIS services, applications, and geodatabases using Oracle 11g/12c with SDO/ST Geometry
- Supports GIS functions in transportation permitting, road inventory, emergency response, crash analysis, project planning, and asset management
- Coordinates with client, server, network, and database teams for IT project delivery and user support
- Currently upgrading from ArcGIS 10 to ArcGIS 10.4.1
- Requires geodatabase upgrades as part of the migration
- Integrating Esri Roads and Highways with asset management and traffic operations systems
- Enhancing the agency geoportal to offer public access to data, metadata, and services including ArcGIS, KML, and WMS
- Expanding ETL capabilities using ActiveBatch, Esri Model Builder, Esri Workflow Manager, and SafeSoftware FME to meet business requirements
