AECOM is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our New York Metro Transportation group including NYC, Bloomfield, NJ and Piscataway, NJ office locations. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Prepare technical reports, specifications and construction documents. • Evaluate ground conditions and understand their impacts on design and construction. • Provide guidance to entry level Engineers. • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. • Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. • Prepare subsurface exploration programs, laboratory assignments and preparing geotechnical reports. • Perform geotechnical investigations and construction inspections. • Lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations. • Perform pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvements and seepage analysis. • Utilize computer software programs, such as: APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP. • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, architects, and environmental specialists. • Develop and implement quality control procedures for geotechnical projects. • Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and findings. • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.
