About the Role
The role involves leading the general accounting team, overseeing financial reporting accuracy, managing closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily operations of the general accounting team
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Review and verify journal entries and account reconciliations
- Monitor compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit processes
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements in accounting workflows
- Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with reporting standards
- Train and mentor team members to enhance performance and development
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain and update accounting documentation and process manuals
- Ensure proper recording of accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Oversee intercompany transaction accuracy and reconciliation
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of accounting systems
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Monitor adherence to company financial controls and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and analyze financial data for management reporting
- Contribute to the development of accounting policies and guidelines
- Ensure consistency in chart of accounts and ledger maintenance
- Facilitate smooth communication between finance and other departments
- Support internal control assessments and risk management initiatives
- Track and report on key accounting performance indicators
- Ensure data integrity across financial systems
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to finance transformation
- Respond to accounting inquiries from stakeholders
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information
