AECOM is seeking an experienced Gas Power Generation Program Manager to lead the development and execution of large-scale natural gas-fired power generation projects across the United States. This role involves managing full project life cycles from concept through commercial operation, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
- Lead full life-cycle delivery of major natural gas power generation projects, from conceptual design through commissioning and turnover
- Develop and manage integrated project execution plans, detailed schedules, budgets, risk registers, and quality plans
- Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, and environmental disciplines
- Manage EPC contractors, OEM partners, technical consultants, and third-party service providers
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, environmental regulations, and client requirements
- Supervise review and approval of engineering documents, technical specifications, and construction work packages
- Coordinate HAZOPs, design reviews, constructability assessments, and commissioning readiness evaluations
- Conduct program-level reporting, stakeholder briefings, and executive-level progress presentations
- Manage financial performance, including P&L responsibility, change management, and risk mitigation
- Support business development activities including proposal strategy, client presentations, and pricing development
- Implement AECOM policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality outcomes and on-time delivery
What We're Looking For
- Strong technical expertise in gas turbine or combined-cycle power plant systems
- Proven program management skills, including planning, resource allocation, and financial oversight
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel to client sites or field locations as required (typically 10–20%)
