About the Role
The Fund Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing fund financial statements, and supporting audit processes. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles and experience with investment funds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain precise accounting records for investment funds
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Reconcile fund portfolios and transaction activity
- Support year-end audit procedures and documentation
- Calculate net asset values and performance metrics
- Collaborate with auditors and external service providers
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Review subscription and redemption transactions
- Assist in the preparation of investor reports
- Monitor fund expense accruals and allocations
- Track income and expense distributions
- Verify accuracy of capital account balances
- Perform periodic balance sheet reconciliations
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain documentation for all fund-related entries
- Assist in the implementation of accounting policies
- Respond to investor and client inquiries
- Support onboarding of new fund structures
- Update internal systems with fund data
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Ensure timely delivery of financial deliverables
- Work cross-functionally with operations and compliance teams
- Stay current with changes in accounting regulations
- Prepare supporting schedules for regulatory filings
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities
