Kitware is seeking a Full-Stack Web Developer for Scientific Applications to contribute to the creation of impactful web-based tools for research and data analysis. You will join a team dedicated to solving complex problems across scientific domains.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications for scientific use cases
- Build responsive user interfaces and robust backend services
- Collaborate with researchers and software engineers to translate requirements into functional software
- Write clean, well-documented, and tested code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience developing modern web applications from frontend to backend
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one major frontend framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular)
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, C++)
- Experience with RESTful API design, development, and integration
- Familiarity with relational and/or non-relational databases
- Ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed team
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience developing applications for scientific, medical, or technical domains
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, VTK.js, Plotly)
- Knowledge of web security best practices and performance optimization
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker)
