Hello Patient is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and scale the end-to-end systems that power our AI assistant for healthcare practices. You'll ship production code across the stack, own features from concept to deployment, and help set engineering best practices.
What You'll Do
- Deliver user-facing functionality in NextJS and TypeScript while crafting robust, testable APIs in Python and FastAPI.
- Design and optimize backend systems that support high-volume, low-latency voice, SMS, and chat traffic.
- Build secure integrations with EHR/PM systems via FHIR, HL7, and custom APIs.
- Implement data pipelines and storage solutions (PostgreSQL, Redis, S3) that respect HIPAA and SOC-2 controls.
- Write infrastructure-as-code in Terraform and Helm, automate tests, and monitor metrics.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; conduct code reviews to uphold performance, readability, and security standards.
- Work closely with internal teams to iterate quickly and prioritize user impact.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years professional experience building and shipping full-stack web applications.
- Proficiency with modern TypeScript on client (React, Next.js) and Python on server.
- AI-native: You use AI tools daily to architect, build, and debug fullstack features, moving quickly from idea to production.
- Strong grasp of relational databases and REST API design; comfortable optimizing queries and indexing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of testing strategies, CI/CD workflows, and Git-based collaboration.
- Clear communication skills and a bias for action.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) or other high-compliance domains.
- Experience integrating or fine-tuning LLMs, building RAG pipelines, designing agent architecture, or voice agents.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture or real-time streaming.
- Prior work at an early-stage startup where you wore multiple hats and influenced product direction.
